"You are coming out of Lo Debar!"

As I was about to take out my Bible for study time this morning, God spoke these words to me, “You are coming out of Lo Debar. The enemy has exiled you to a place where God’s presence is absent, but God is taking you out of that place to the place where His presence is. You are coming out of Lo Debar!”
I Samuel 20:17 says that Jonathan loved David as much as he loved himself. Their friendship was something that defied the odds because of Jonathan’s father, Saul’s, obsession about killing David; nevertheless, the two were best friends. In I Samuel 31 Jonathan dies, along with Saul, in battle. In II Samuel 9 David remembers the covenant he made with his best friend, Jonathan, and asks is there anyone left from Saul’s family (who fled in fear when David became king because they thought he would take retribution out on them for the way Saul had treated him).
Siba, who was a servant of Saul, tells David about Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth, who was crippled as a child when he was dropped as Saul’s family fled the palace in fear. Mephibosheth now resided at Makir’s house in Lo Debar. David tells servants to bring Mephibosheth from Lo Debar. When Mephibosheth arrives David says, “Don’t be afraid, I will be kind to you for your father, Jonathon’s, sake. I will give you back all the land of your grandfather, Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” (II Samuel 9:7)
Lo Debar was a city in Manasseh. The name means no pasture, no word, and no communication. God’s promise in Psalms 23:2 is that we are to rest in green pastures. Pasture as defined by the dictionary is grass or other vegetation eaten as food by grazing animals. It’s ironic that this place Lo Debar also means no word. The spiritual food we eat is the Word of God. There’s no spiritual food in Lo Debar. God tells us to rest in the freshness and abundance of his Word, but when we let fear drive us to Lo Debar we get no rest in God’s Word because we can’t hear God’s Word when we live in fear.
Fear not only prevents us from hearing God’s word, it takes us out of position. Mephibosheth’s rightful position was not in Lo Debar. His rightful position was at the king’s table. It take’s you out of God’s presence. Ephesians 2:6 says, “He has raised us up with Christ and gave us a seat with Him in heaven.” He has seated us in heavenly places, yet, we instead, sit at the table of depression or the table of oppression, or the table of grief, or the table of sickness or the table of lack.
David’s first words to Mephibosheth were, “do not be afraid”. David cast out that spirit of fear out of Mephibosheth. Then Mephibosheth was able to be restored to his rightful position at the king’s table (seated in heavenly places) and received his rightful possessions. In I Samuel 30:8, after the Amalekites had kidnapped David’s family and stolen all his possession, God told him that he would recover all. Now David was telling Mephibosheth the same thing. David gave Mephibosheth back everything that belonged to Saul, but he couldn’t receive the possessions until he was in position.
You can’t receive the possessions if you are out of position. The right position to be in is seated in heavenly places. The right position to be in is in the presence of God because it is the only way you will be able to hear His Word. You get in position by prayer, fasting, worship, studying your Bible, exercising your faith, walking in obedience and loving your neighbor as yourself. The Word says to seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness and then (and only then) will everything else be given to you. Also the reason Mephibosheth was restored was because of David's covenant with Jonathan. Restoration comes only comes when you are in covenant with God (like the covenant of paying tithes).
God is bringing you out of Lo Debar, a place of desolation, isolation and separation from Him. He is bringing you out of Lo Debar and into a place where His presence is abundant. It is a place of rest and a place of green pastures. A place where there is no fear nor condemnation. It is a place of anticipation, restoration and restitution. You are coming out of Lo Debar.

    4. Early Sunday morning (Easter 2016) while turning over in bed I heard the word "Lodebar", I knew it was a place in the scriptures but couldn't remember anything about it. I thought to myself, I'll research it once I get up then went back to sleep.

Later that day it came back to mind and googled it. After reading it's definition I was taken aback. Why was God giving me this word and how did it relate to me because the definition was so dark and gloomy. Then I found this article and began rejoicing but I had to read all of it to get the complete reason why God spoke the word Lodebar to me. I had been living there spiritually and it reflected in my own personal life although I loved the Lord.

He was telling me that I'm coming out of Lodebar! Last week I spent time in His presence fasting, praying, worshiping, reading His word and tithing. Then He gives me this message, wow! I am rejoicing in the God of my salvation. I have never seen this article before but I found it on Resurrection Sunday this year 2016 and wanted to share it with other readers how God can speak to you. It's about not just seeking His face but developing a relationship with Him - intimacy.

I'm so excited about Him and being available to Him. God bless.

    5. Great message thank you. Restoration brings freedom, liberty not to be bound to a covenant (of tithing) 2 Corinthians 9:6-9. The One True living God desires us to worship Him in spirit and in Truth. Yes let us come out of Lodebar to do just that, freely.

  2. This advisor, more successful lady has continued to tell me that our community allows me and others to struggle and suffer because, it's just like Lodebar.
I had never heard of this subject, place, noun: or whatever it's suppose to be, she said it was taught about in the Bible, I have never even heard, of, read about, or recall any lessons about, IT.
And worst she couldn't exactly remember where the subject is written about in the Bible and INTERSTING, odes not even come close to this body knowledge and wisdom.
Thank you all for posting this material,

  3. Your story was encory enuraging to me. Many times in this christian journey we may feel like we are in Lo Debar (me), and I know salvation is not based on a feeling, but we are human. Just hearing what God spoke to you gave me chills, because I know that my God is not a respecter of person if he did it for you he willdo it for me... be encourage my sister.

  6. Today while driving God spoke the word Lo Debar to me as clear as day. I've heard of it before in the bible, but could never find it up until I googled it tonight. Lo Debar is found a couple of times in the bible. It is stated to be called a very low place/ out of Gods presence. I admit even being a christian I have been our of place and true connection with God. I can truly say that this message was for me to hear. Im coming out of this dirty dry place and repostioning myself for kingdom purposes. Bountiful Blessings on the writer of this lesson that I've learned......

  9. "You get in position by prayer, fasting, worship, studying your Bible, exercising your faith, walking in obedience and loving your neighbor as yourself." I think this observation is incorrect - here is why.
One thing to notice here is that David calls Mephibosheth. Mephibosheth doesn't "do" anything. He doesn't have to work for this to happen. Second, David does it because of his covenant with Jonathan - not with Mephibosheth. What this means is that God will bless you because of his covenant with his son Jesus and what he has done in the cross. Not because of you what you do. As you well said: Seek first the kingdom and HIS righteousness. This "HIS" is Jesus' righteousness, not our own. In other words, seek what Jesus has done in the cross.

    Thank you for posting.

    Best

    1. Its 2014, May; I was led to read Amos as I was asking the LORD of Host and Messiah -where does this country stand and why I was placed in such a place far from home? - I knew, but the reminder was this Amos esp. 6:11-14. Decisions are made from the top down. This includes spiritual ones. The USA is in great trouble. The majority of our so-called leaders don't know GOD nor HIS Messiah/Son i.e. Jesus; the "Supreme Court, Congress and the last 5 presidents proved this. Sad.

  14. Wow! I am reading this message on August 22, 2014. Three days ago, the Lord spoke to my heart, you are coming out of Lo Debar, I asked Him, what that meant. I heard in my spirit, Lo Debar was a desolate place, a place of exile because of fear, the fear was because of a lie the family believed that David would harm them. Instead of sitting at the Kings table, they were living in Lo Debar in fear. I started to look for information about Lo Debar, when I Googled Lo Debar, I found this message. It wasn't until after I had read the message that I noticed it was posted in November of 2012. God is so good to confirm His word to us, even through an almost two year old post. I praise God for your obedience to share this message. Thank you, may God bless you richly. I assume you have come out of Lo Debar :)

  15. Heard the name for the first time yesterday and looked it up on google. I must say that it has really touched my spirit in a way like non other. I saw a picture of myself in Mephiboseth. Totally helpless and in a dire need for assurance of hope. During my search I came across this article and though it's been almost two years since it has been published, it felt very fresh to me. I was filled with a great assurance knowing fully well that I am not alone in the fight - God is on my side. Thanks so much. God bless you real good.

  19. To God be the Glory. I ran across this article today. Your right LoDebar is dry places and dead relationships. God will make a decision to call you out of your dry and dead places! Shifting you into Psalms 23:2-3 "He maketh me lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me besides the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name sake". You've just been invited into the Lord's inner courts! A place of rest. Surgery of the spirit is taking place to heal your broken places and wounded spaces so the Lord can use you. LoDebar can manifest through transfiguration- an alteration in your outwrd appearance (loss of employment, no "standard" income at all, loss of property and relationships). Word of caution-take your eyes off your circumstances! You are shifted into a higher spiritual realm.Spiritually transformation and conforming of the mind (new perceptions) to present reality is taking place. The Lord is breaking, sifting, shaping, and molding preparing us for higher calling. Your right, you cannot receive restoration until all lessons are learned. You will feel the growing pains. I say go ahead and cry, tears are healing. Matt. 6:33 says it best! Enjoy the green pastures besides the still waters. It is only for a season. Thanks for you post I enjoyed reading it. May the Lord continue to bless and bless you and your family.

  22. Dear Sister in Christ, Thank you so much for blessing me with this post on coming out of lodebar. Like so many of the other readers, I too have clearly heard God's voice speak to me about lodebar and coming out. I have a child with autism and during our journey to bring God Glory through his progress, I have had encountered many a visits to lodebar either on my own accord or of that of others. BUT GOD, who is faithful to his promise to me in which he said, "What better voice to bring me glory than a voice they said would never speak." Well, my heart leaps with joy in that I can report to you that my God is faithful to that which he had promised to me concerning my son. He talks so much that I am quite frequently having to say, "Christian, enough talking!" And God brings our lodebar experience to my rememberance and all I can do is laugh at my words. To God be the Glory for the AWESOME, AMAZING, and WONDERFUL things he has done in my life. As one other reader said, "May you be blessed with green pastures besides the still waters" and may I reside there with you! Thank you again for blessing me with this post.

  25. Today is June 14, 2019. God spoke to me several year back to get from among my kindred. From that time to now I’ve had struggles after struggles. No matter what I did to try and make my situation better something else would take its place. Well the, “get from among your kindred,” began come back to my remembrance as time went on. But on June 12, 2019, I became heavily burdened in my spirit concerning where I live. I knew for all these years that God was placing an unrest in my spirit concerning my home town. But on the 12th it became overwhelming strong! Then on yesterday, I heard, “You will not prosper here.” It all made sense at last! My unfruitful attempts to improve my life now made sense. Regardless to my faithfulness, love for my enemies, worship, tithing, praying or spreading the Gospel, nothing got better. The depression set in along with frustration and anxiety! I was lied on, talked about and attacked verbally in places I chose to worship. Just to name a few situations. This morning while walking out of my house to take my son to work, I heard “Lo Debar.” As I try to do whenever I hear a word or phrase in my spirit, I began to researched Lo Debar. I came across two sermons pertaining to Lo Debar. Both were quite helpful by way of further revelation. I trust God in that which He is doing. I know for certain that I have to move from the area in which I live. I’m trusting God for the means to do so and where He will have me to go. Peace and blessings to all!

  28. Three weeks ago I went to a Women's Conference and the message of one of the speakers was "Coming out of Lo Debar". Funny, until that time I had no knowledge of LoDebar but now my eyes are wide open. I went to that conference so empty, my heart and soul crying, in a state of loneliness, emptiness, fear, worry, insecure, inadequate and can't understand, "where is God." The speaker had a word for me though. When she spoke to me and said God said to tell you, He is going to reset you. I was like a dam that burst wide open and I could not hold back the tears. The tears were pouring out of my heart, my soul and I got my release thanks be to God!!All I know is that I can't go back there. The enemy tries hard messing with my mind but I serve an all powerful and mighty God and He has been restoring me. Friends, I laugh in the face of my enemies. " For thou prepares a table before me, in the presence of my enemies, thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over." My cup is running over. From that day I have been researching material and reading all I can on Lo Debar, I saw your article and here I am sharing my testimony and the goodness of God. To God be the Glory! I love that Man, my heart is full, if I love Him one more time... Blessings Yvonne
