As I mentioned in yesterday's post when we invite God into our lives He bright illumination, but we remove him there is darkness. During the period in human history known as the Dark Ages we see this demonstrated very well. I would argue to this period of constant warfare
with virtually no urban life, a time of tyranny, sickness, disease, famine, poverty, and illiteracy was mainly because man took God out of the picture.
This historically period was followed by the Renaissance, which was a period of rebirth of intellectual enlightenment in literature,
art, science, religion and government came about when man started to search for God again.
So we see that not only in our personal lives, but also in history that when God is removed it results in darkness. When we let Him in there is illumination and revelation.
